Scenery by: Efate Planet type: Regular Earth Inspired by: An Australian beach Date made: 13 November 2001 Short description: An Australia beach, the kind of beach that attracts tourists. Two different weather modes described as they're both equally beatiful. Near to houses and suburbia. |

Summer day... The heat beats down, it can be felt everywhere outside. The sand starts high, up near the road. Dunes like small mountains meet the eyes as the native grasses move in the breeze. The salty sea air so different to that further inland. Each blade of grass slender, standing tall and alone though in small patches. They're sharp to the touch, perhaps planted to keep people off the fragile dunes. The water of the ocean can be heard, even as gentle as it is today it still roars. The gentle waves brush in against the sand as the air is pierced by the grating calls of seagulls further along. The sand spreads out under foot, leaving a footprint, the sand itself is hot to the touch. Looking out over the vast, near-endless expanse of water its like the horizon is an empty embrace of sky and water. Along the beach further, gull's fly in the air, gliding against the breeze. They fly around an old, un-used timber pier which stretches out over the water. Standing on the pier, you may realize its connected to an outcropping of stone, weathered back beyond the sand its smooth and hot to touch. The worn timbers creak slightly underfoot travelling out oveer the clear blue water. Rocks, and stretches of seaweed visible beneath the water from here. They dance to moves that the waves inspire. The water reflecting light up harshly. |

Winter night... The road is slick from the freshly finished rains. The clouds above slowly parting revealing a sky packed with stars and a moon large and bright. The sand near the road is patterned from the chaotic raindrops that beat into them. Moving along a slick stone walkway lit by the moon, the pier is just ahead. The stone is cold underfoot, the wooden pier seems almost soft enough to give way. Looking out from the pier the waves roar, and throw themselves against the beach. Agression? No, natural still. The wind is icy cold and driving in across the ocean. The salty air though hard to detect for the cold is filled with the smell of the seaweed thats been washed up onto the beach. Perhaps it will rain again tonight. The waves sweep away any footprints that remained. |

Elements/thoughts: Sand, makes very unique battle scenery. Mainly because its hard to run on it harder still to run on the wet sand and harder to run in the water. Climbing the dunes requires an oddly high level on concentration because even though they are supported by plants they are still made of shifting sands. Water, the water is plentiful, but un-drinkable. Its Salty sea water filled with minerals wich have been leached from the bedrock deep under the ground. The pier would probably break under to much weight or impact stress. |
