Roleplaying,
for a long time now its been one of my preffered hobbies.
It is after all a very fun thing to do when amoung friends.
Ive played a lot of systems, seen a lot of complex rules
and rules so tight and binding. However the rules were
always there for a reason. How outstanding was it to
compare character sheets in school with the others in
awe of how strong a character could be. Later I realized
that character strength is really nothing, without depth
in your character's character. So began the UC-RP sheet.
The UC-RP system sheet stated it all. I acknowledge
that its not for everybody. (Though I do wish for you
to read it.) Who knows, if you dont like it you may
be inspired to make a better one. (Some hosted RP's
require sheets.) My own creation revised and inspired
by other roleplayers. I also ask that you link back
to the site when using a sheet.
UC-RP System version 0.4: Multi-universe combat statistics
sheet.
0.4 incorperates the limitation feature,
to represent having to maintain skill's over time. Also
with new sheet creation guidelines for 'Villans' and
lower level hero characters.
Lets begin.
An explination first of the system's
inner workings. The sheet was first created to protect
peoples right to say 'Im stronger than you with this,
but in exchange you have strengths elsewhere.' Something
I did regularly with many of my RP battles. However,
there are people out there who wont accept that. People
who need to say that they are stronger than you at everything.
(Essentialy to switch god mode on.) The sheet was made
to protect against these people. RP combat is meant
to be a battle of IC and OOC skill rather than a game
of power levels.
Each level on the sheet, grants a single basic stat
point... a point to put towards either building up the
characters basic stats or saved and put into advanced
trainings. (Magic, Chi/Ki techniques.) When people at
the same level clash they will each have their own style,
both are bonded to the fact that they cant just pull
a new and ultimate power out of their pocket etc. Fair
play is the key of the system.
To start.
First look at your character, what level
would you say it is? -WRONG- The first thing is to look
at what your character is all about. A warrior? a mage?
a scientist or alchemist? How does your character fight
to win battles. Do you weild a sword? a spell or a gun?
Perhaps your character is a student of some ancient
martial arts technique. Are you strong? Are you fast?
Can you play three games of chess against the computer
at the same time on hard difficulty and still win? The
maximum starting level a character can be is 24, the
reccomended start for new characters is actualy 5.
